Could you ask for a more picturesque location for a romantic rustic wedding than Lake Huron? Lake Huron is home to some of the most beautiful sunsets, exciting wildlife and luscious beaches in all of Ontario, including Wasaga and Sauble beaches. When I was first chatting with Sam and Adam and they told me they were tying the knot on it’s shores, I was so unbelievably excited!
Samantha and Adam put their heart and soul into their ceremony and reception, and it really shines through in the photographs captured of the day! The ceremony and reception were held at a family cottage on Lake Huron, steps away from the beach itself! It was a lovely day full of meaning and you could feel the love in the air. It was a relaxed, intimate, romantic affair, and at such a special location too. The Lake Huron cottage belongs to Samantha’s grandmother, and is full of family memories – how amazing is it that they got to create these memories there too?!
They thought of everything to make sure their guests had a great time, from a delicious buffet to renting a golf cart to get down to the beach for pictures!
Adam had his friend Bryce and sister Amanda stand up beside him. Their sweet daughter stole the show by joining them on their special day as their flower girl. She looked like a princess in her mint green dress! It was so wonderful to see how much fun Samantha and her bridesmaids – sister Sydney and good friend Chelsea – had while getting ready. The neighbours let Adam and the guys use the cottage to get themselves ready in, which was just so incredibly kind!
Weddings have a way of bringing out the best in people and making magic happen, and this occasion was no exception. The groom’s parents flew in all the way from Newfoundland to be there, and I have to give a special shout out to Samantha’s mom. She hand-made a lot of the decor for the ceremony and reception, including the centrepieces and flower arrangements. It’s always so much fun when the family gets involved!
If you’re a photographer you know that taking photos on the beach can be a little bit tricky. Balancing the natural light can be a juggling act for sure! The weather on Samantha and Adams big day was literally everything we could have asked for and more. We were all holding our breath because mother nature was sending down some thunder and lightning, but it never actually rained thank goodness. Not only did it stay dry but the almost-rain clouds made for an amazing backdrop and gave us a breeze on an otherwise warm and humid day.
