Rock Glen Conservation Area: Waterfalls, Hiking Trails and Engagement Sessions

Sydney and Brandon’s engagement session at Rock Glen Conservation Area was the quintessential picturesque Fall shoot! Not only is it the perfect location for photos, filled with scenic vistas and fall trees, but it’s where Brandon asked Sydney to marry him! It’s so cool to be able to hold an engagement session where the big moment actually happened! Their engagement story is definitely an adorable one. They were hiking, and Brandon was nervously holding onto the ring as all people who propose do. As they walked along, every time they would come to a location that was photo worthy enough to propose crowds of people would pass them. Brandon would (understandably so) get stage fright! All in all, the final proposal destination was not the most picturesque point on the trail but it is definitely the most secluded!

Sydney and Brandon are getting married next year at The Lambeth Legion. They’ll have 100 of their family, friends and loved ones in attendance. They’ll have four trusted individuals stand up next to them as they say their vows, and their colour scheme is so bright and happy. It’s peacock colours, so think stunning jewel tones! I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see their vision come to life. This couple is just so sweet, and I absolutely can’t wait to see them tie the knot in 2023. If their big day is half as fun as this engagement shoot was, we’re in for a fantastic time!

If Sydney looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen her gorgeous face before! She is the sister of and was the maid of honour for one of my brides Sam. Sam and Adam tied the knot back on August 25th! I’ve linked Sam and Adam’s Lake Huron Wedding below for you to take a peek, or you can click here!

Off Roading (aka Trespassing) and Family Heirlooms

I feel like signing a contract with me to take your wedding and engagement photos should come with a disclaimer. We are more than likely going to have to get a little off-road to get the perfect photo! I don’t know what it is, but in almost every session we end up off the beaten path (*cough occasionally trespassing cough*) more often than not. Now I’m not admitting to anything concrete here, but that gorgeous waterfall you see below may or may not have been behind a gate that may or may not have been locked and we may have just climbed over it. What can I say – you have to do what you have to do in order to satisfy your creative whims. I mean, just look at the waterfall – wouldn’t you want to go down there too?!

Now let’s talk about the STUNNING ring you’ll see on your scroll. As Janice from FRIENDS would say, “Oh my GAWD I’m BLIND!” You should know by now that I’m a sucker for a sweet story, and Sydney’s show-stopping ring is no exception. It was her grandmother’s ring, and it was passed down to them! It was handmade by Sydney’s grandfather and there was originally supposed to be a second jacket ring to complete the look. Sadly, the talented man passed away before he could complete it. The couple is going to make lemonade out of lemons, and complete the look with a wedding band of their own as the other jacket ring.

I hope you enjoy scrolling Sydney and Brandon’s engagement session at Rock Glen Conservation Area!
