I was so excited when Martha and Jonathon chose Kincardine for their beachside engagement photos!
We were joined by their kids for the engagement session, and honestly I couldn’t get enough of this sweet little family. Martha and Jon met way back in 2014 when they worked together at a nursing home! The couple lost touch for about four years but kept each other in the back of their minds on various forms of social media. In 2018 Martha sent Jon a Facebook message inquiring after his dog and the rest is history. They are the most devoted, attentive and wonderful parents to their two boys, and they have two pets that I hope to be able to meet on their wedding day!
They both love doing anything they can do together as a family, from outdoorsy activities like hiking to watching Marvel and Star Wars on a lazy Sunday. Trips to Toronto that focus on having fun and eating good food are a must for them, as is time with their extended family and time together at home.
Jon’s proposal to Martha was full of love, and the unexpected! Jon enlisted the help of his mom and son to help create the perfect proposal. After a date at a favourite local restaurant, Jonathon gave the ring box to their son so he could be a part of the big moment. They say that life happens when you’re busy making other plans and that couldn’t be more true here:
Jon’s little wingman ran away with the ring box!
Of course Martha had no idea he had the ring and – rightly so – was completely focused on getting her son back! As they chased after their little one, Jonathon stopped Martha in front of a fountain, got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. They finally got the ring back and celebrated as a family!
Their colour choice is absolutely stunning! Rose gold and black are what a modern bride’s dreams are made of. Martha and Jonathon will be celebrating with roughly 100 guests at a location, date and time to be determined. Martha’s sister Ysabel is their wedding planner, which I absolutely love! They are working together to create a romantic, simple, laid back affair. Their wedding party will have 2 people, and be indoors. I’m so excited to see how they choose to celebrate their love!
