The First Session of the Fall Season

The first day of Fall, and the first Fall engagement session of the season! The weather has turned, and its time to start my Gilmore Girls re-watch! On this lovely fall day, I met Zoey and Marc at The River Run Centre. We managed to find a tree that had turned it’s leaves early, and it matched Zoey and Marc’s sweaters so perfectly for their Fall engagement session in Guelph! I always LOVE shooting here because it’s such a fun versatile space! There are so many different backdrops and settings to choose from. And, it’s absolutely gorgeous too!

And it just so happens that Guelph is special for the couple too. They live in Oakville now but both went to school in Guelph, and visit as often as they can. They even made an entire date night out of our time together! We had our session and afterwards they were going to get dinner at their favourite Chinese food restaurant. They were just so sweet and adorable, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year! Zoey reached out to me because I had the privilege of photographing her friend’s wedding at the Butterfly Conservatory last year. May the Force be With You

Speaking of their wedding…Did I mention it was Star Wars themed?! How fun is that!! They love Star Wars and Lego, so when you’re scrolling the photos we took keep your eye peeled for a certain Jedi and Sith Lord in Lego form! Their theme really speaks to how wonderful and joyful this couple truly is. Their engagement session was full of laughter and the love just shone right through!

Something else you’ll notice about their shoot: if you don’t recognize the team on the hockey jerseys they’re wearing in some of the shots, you’re not alone! I said I didn’t know who they were and Marc immediately quipped back “that’s okay, only 25 people in the world do – its my beer league hockey team!” See what I mean when I say they’re hilarious?!

My favourite thing about engagement and wedding shoots is seeing how couples bring those little bits of themselves into their planning. All their little details really truly make a difference, and help make the wedding feel like yours!
