If you live in Southwestern Ontario, you’ll know that until about a week ago, we had been desperate for rain around here! The ground was rock hard dry, it had been hot as sin and the farmers were getting nervous. Like many times in the dog days of July it was calling for a thunderstorm. Most of us were assuming that it would get pushed off a few more days before it finally showed up. So last week I hopped in the car to Watford for my engagement session with the lovely Holly and Evan.
I am not kidding even a little bit when I say that the rain drops started AS I TURNED ONTO THEIR ROAD!! What was this?! I couldn’t believe that the storm not only actually showed up! Three hours earlier than forecast!
Thank goodness for adventurous couples who trust me!! We decided since I’d made the drive and we were all there that we’d try and make the best of it. We managed to get some incredible shots under the trees as well as in the barn. At the end as the rain REALLY started we decided to go all in. They danced in the rain rocked some serious Notebook vibes!! It was SOO much fun and I really hope that Holly and Evan had as much fun as I did!
I plan to head back up there later this fall or next summer before their wedding to capture some more shots with their vintage truck. But for now these shots are a pretty solid consolation prize if I do say so myself!
Thank you so much for the scroll! Make sure to check back next year for a blog of their full wedding day!
