Amber and Cameron: Love on the Beach

Hailing from Grand Bend, Amber is a dedicated public health nurse, and Cameron is a skilled mechanic. Although they met in high school, their friendship blossomed into romance years later. Their commitment to each other was evident during their beach engagement session in Bayfield, Ontario. Despite Cameron’s sore ankle, they were energetic and enthusiastic, embracing the natural beauty around them. Owing to their love for outdoor activities, including boating and fishing, their Bayfield beach engagement session perfectly complemented the serene setting.

A Rainy yet Perfect Wedding Day

Amber and Cameron celebrated their wedding day at the stunning Hessenland Inn, filling it with love, emotion, and beautiful personal touches. As the oldest child, Amber brought immense joy to her family by being one of the first to get married. Surrounded by a huge group of friends and family, they marked the day with heartfelt moments and long-term connections.

Although the ceremony was initially planned by the pond, it had to be moved indoors due to weather. This didn’t dampen the spirits; instead, it added a cozy, intimate vibe. Additionally, two unique rituals highlighted their ceremony: a ring warming, where guests held the rings to imbue them with love, and a fisherman’s knot, symbolizing their unity. Cameron’s late mother was fondly remembered throughout the day and plaid accessories to pay her tribute were worn by both Cameron and his aunt, adding a sentimental touch.

Amber’s attention to detail was evident in the stunning florals she and the team at Backyard Flower Shop meticulously planned. Her excitement was palpable, and every arrangement reflected her vision perfectly. Moreover, a live painter, Catrina, from Cruzeiro Arts joined us for the ceremony to create a portrait of the couple as they shared their first kiss. The painting was the most wonderful surprise gift to them from Amber’s Aunt Robbie. Amber and Cameron were so entranced by their wedding vows that the surprise didn’t even hit home till after the ceremony!

Hessenland: A Must-See Wedding Venue

The Hessenland Inn in Zurich, Ontario, provided a breathtaking backdrop for Amber and Cameron’s wedding. This picturesque property, nestled right off the lake, offered a beautiful setting for their celebration. Cameron got ready at the new house they are building, adding a personal touch to the day. Despite the weather, which transitioned from drizzle during the ceremony to a downpour during the cocktail hour, the venue’s charm remained unscathed. Even with the rain, they were able to accommodate the couple’s guests in a beautiful indoor ceremony space.

Hessenland’s wedding coordinator, Erin, was incredibly attentive and ensured everything ran smoothly. Owing to the rainy weather, she had umbrellas ready for the couple and the guests, showcasing her preparedness and attention to detail. This allowed me, as their photographer, to capture some creative flash photography with the umbrellas, adding a unique twist to their wedding photos. The venue’s flexibility and beauty has quickly added this venue to one of my favourites to work with.

Dinner at the Hessenland Inn was nothing short of spectacular. The food was delicious, and as a wedding photographer, I can attest that this is a huge perk! The meal added to the joyous atmosphere, leaving everyone satisfied and happy.

When I asked Amber and Cameron about a honeymoon they told they’d decided to forgo their honeymoon; instead, choosing to relax and enjoy some downtime without any decision making in their gorgeous new home! Cam’s exact words were: “We’re going sit… on the couch with a beer and that is just what need after this!”
