We all know by now that farm weddings are my jam, and Chelsey and Zade’s farm wedding in Clifford Ontario was no exception. I had the best time! They are the sweetest couple, and they cared so much about their guests. The bride decorated the venue with thoughtful rustic touches, most of which were DIY which is always super impressive to me! It was a sentimental and fun-filled day, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
You may not remember but for their engagement session we got to four wheel to the location. We took portraits where the couple got engaged, so we got to ride on the ATV’s again for their wedding day! Chelsey and Zade love animals and nature, and accordingly the location they got married at was just absolutely perfect for them. The property belongs to Zade’s parents, and luckily there is an amazing barn on the property that was the site of the reception. Also, it’s a good thing they aren’t scared of wildlife! During their photos we saw three deer, three snakes, about a million frogs and even heard some herons in the distance! Another cool thing is they actually live next door to where they got ready. I am always in favour of making things as easy as possible on your big day!
This wedding had some of the coolest amenities I’ve ever seen. Their favours were portraits drawn by a cartoonist they hired, and there was also a photobooth! The prosecco was never ending, and they had a huge buffet that was available as soon as the reception started which I thought was such a nice touch, and also beyond thoughtful for the guests. Everyone knows that weddings make you hungry and make for long days! that was all great, but my absolute favourite thing? A CAMPFIRE with s’mores and hot dogs for roasting!!!!!! Sorry for the capital letters and multiple exclamation points, I’m just very enthusiastic about s’mores.
I just love the thoughtfulness and little details Chelsey included in her wedding day! I especially love how she chose to honour her late Mom. The diamond and sapphire earrings Chelsey is wearing in the photos belonged to her Mom, and they reserved a chair for her in the ceremony space that everyone put a flower on. Not a dry eye in the house!
One of my favourite parts of shooting weddings is hearing each couples individual stories, and Chesley and Zade’s story is very fitting of their vibe as a couple. They met while singing karaoke with two separate groups of friends. The bartender gave Zade Chelsey’s number at her request. On their first date they hit it off right away and the rest is history! They have been together for over a decade, so there was definitely some good natured ribbing and a lot of “finally”!
