“Hey! So, my siblings and I want to buy a family session gift certificate for our parents. We want to do an extended family session in downtown London, Ontario. Also there are 10 adults and 8 kids ranging from 2 months to teenagers.”
These words are some of the best things to hear as a family photographer! Such a beautiful gift to give your parent for any special occasion! Although, challenging in many ways- extended family sessions are some of my most favourite. There are so many options, combinations and fun stories that come during a session. This family chose to do their session right downtown London in a beautiful park- then we found this incredible bridge!
During an extended family session, we will always make sure we get poses of the entire family, each individual family unit, each kiddo, each couple and then whatever other combinations you wish. Often included are; all the grandkids, the original family pre-marriages, all the adults, just the girls, just the boys etc. I also ALWAYS make sure we get a picture of just the matriarch and patriarch- it is their legacy after all!
When you choose an all inclusive extended family session, you receive all of the images in an online gallery that can be accessed by everyone! Gone are the days where that one sibling(let’s be real, its always the oldest!) who organized the session get a disk or a drive and then has to figure out how to get it to everyone. Everyone has access to the online gallery for downloads and the ability to choose and order their own prints for their home.
I like to think of this as a gift to every mom in the family- everyone gets family photos!
