When you think of a wedding, do you think of a chapel? Do you think of something outdoors or does another setting come to mind? Luckily at the Rose Chapel in London Ontario, you don’t have to choose between those options for your wedding! It’s a fully restored chapel that doesn’t function as a church. The non-denominational venue was built in 1854, and has everything you need to help make your big day special. They host a bunch of different types of events, not just nuptials so if you’re local to London be sure to check them out.
Every now and then I get to shoot at a venue that really tests my skills, and that was definitely how I would describe the Rose Chapel! It is a STUNNING space, but I really had to get the creativity flowing to get the photos I was envisioning. I have been super spoiled lately to be shooting at venues that are insanely spacious and/or have a unique focal point, whether it be a body of water or a hand carved archway! Thankfully we had a lot of time allotted to take photos and I was able to bring our vision to life.
The weather on Randi and Scott’s “I Do’ day was PICTURE perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better sky, and the temperature was perfect. Have I mentioned how happy I am that the Fall weather is finally here and I no longer have to sweat my way through my work like I’m taking a CrossFit class?! The bride and groom are actually friends of a couple whose wedding I shot last Summer, so it was so fun to see them again too!
Randi and Scott met at the wedding of another friend. They exchanged numbers after dancing the night away, and the rest is history! The couple loves watching movies together and hitting up any Casino or Arcade they can find. When asked that their favourite thing to do together was, they came to a consensus almost immediately: “anything that involves us being together”. Can you say adorable?!
Scott is very shy and doesn’t like a lot of attention. In spite of that, he made the absolute most out of a once in a lifetime moment: proposing to the love of his life! Randi is a huge fan of “The Bachelor”, and when Scott proposed he asked her if she would “accept his final rose”. As a fellow reality television lover, I approve of this wholeheartedly!
I mean it when I say I am IN LOVE with Randi’s wedding dress! It is the coolest, most sparkly wedding gown I have ever seen and she looked absolutely picture perfect. I mean, like, ALL day. Shout out to her hair and makeup artists because it held up for the ENTIRE party! Also I have to give another shout out to the custom “Just Married” denim jacket Randi had made for the big day – it was SUCH a uniquely special touch and I loved it!
And I mean, PARTY! After one of the most delicious dinners I’ve ever eaten, it was time to tear up the dance floor and Randi and Scott’s guests definitely understood the assignment. I mentioned that Randi and Scott danced the night away the day they met, and their wedding was no exception. I think one of my favourite shots from the big day is the one of the little man in the dress shirt just feeling the music! That, or the one of the cake almost falling as it was being cut because Randi and Scott pulled off the save of the century!
