Their fireside engagement session in Mitchell was the perfect way to showcase their love for the outdoors and their deep connection in a space they know and cherish.

A Love Born from Friendship

Alex and Matt’s love story began with a spark—literally! They met through mutual friends, and after a message from Matt, their conversation flowed effortlessly. “We hung out one night to catch up,” Alex recalls, “and the rest is history. We were pretty inseparable after that.”

Whether they’re hiking, camping, or enjoying live music together, Alex and Matt’s relationship thrives on shared experiences and adventure. They spend summers traveling with their trailer, seadooing, and exploring new places. And when winter rolls around, they enjoy the warmth of their home, soaking up the comfort of their shared life.

The Proposal: A Sand-Scripted Love Story

Matt chose a moment during a holiday at Wasaga Beach to propose. After a peaceful dinner by the beach, they spent time by the water. It was there, in front of the beautiful lake, that Matt wrote his proposal in the sand. With the waves gently lapping at the shore, he pulled the ring from his pocket, creating a memory they’ll never forget.

Embracing the Outdoors in Their Engagement Session

Given their love for the outdoors, it’s no surprise that Alex and Matt chose their backyard for their engagement photos. “We love spending time in our backyard,” they shared. The familiar setting allowed them to feel completely at ease, and the warmth of the fire added a special touch to the evening.

Alex and Matt are now planning their wedding, an outdoor celebration set for August 9th, 2025. With a color palette of sage and lavender, their day promises to be filled with natural beauty, just like their engagement session.
