A Stratford Summer Wedding

Mackenzie and David’s love story began in the first month of their freshman year at Conestoga College in 2014. Not just college sweethearts, they happened to live down the hall from each other. Owing to this chance proximity, a romance was started that would stand the test of time. Fast forward to December 17, 2022, David, ever the thoughtful planner, orchestrated a surprise for his proposal. He bought tickets to see The Nutcracker in Toronto and booked a hotel room for the night. Although the show was magical, David had an even more enchanting plan in store.

After the performance, in the cozy ambiance of their hotel room, David mustered the courage to propose. As he got down on one knee and presented a glittering ring, Mackenzie couldn’t believe her eyes. Initially thinking he was joking, her surprise soon turned to tears of joy as David’s sincerity became evident. This emotional and intimate proposal was a moment they would both cherish forever.

Their journey from college freshmen to newlyweds is always filled with laughter, shared dreams, and memories. They really are the funniest couple I have encountered.

What sets Mackenzie and David apart is their ability to find joy in the simple act of spending time together. Whether it’s a quiet evening at home, a stroll through a park, or an adventurous road trip, they relish each other’s company.

Recently, they decided to capture their love story through a fall engagement session at Sunrise Silo Acres. Known for its rustic charm and landscapes, the location provided a perfect backdrop to celebrate their love. Moreover, the warmth of the autumn sun, the vibrant colours of the changing leaves, and the serenity of the location all contributed to a magical photoshoot.

A Summer Wedding in Stratford

Mackenzie and David’s wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. On a beautiful summer day in Stratford, they gathered with family and friends to celebrate their love. Owing to the couple’s fun-loving nature, the day was filled with joy, laughter and definitely lots of jokes!

Mackenzie, ever the unique bride, wore Converse with her beautiful blue wedding dress, adding a touch of personality to her bridal attire. She had a custom slit put into her dress for photos of both her grandmothers sewn into the liner, showing her thoughtfulness and family devotion. Her stunner of a wedding gown came from Etsy, adding a splash of colour to the traditional white wedding palette.

The couple got married at St Jospeh’s Catholic Church in Stratford, which provided a beautifully traditional setting for their vows.

Following the ceremony the couple and their friends headed to the Stratford Rotary Complex to show off their dance moves.

The reception hall was beautifully decorated by Devine Design, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for the celebration. It is always a privilege to photograph and setting where Devine Design has had their influence. Devine Design makes every venue they work with look elegant and luxurious, whether it is The Rotary Complex Hall, a backyard to Greyson Mills, they are the best in the business!

Friends and family traveled from Sault Ste. Marie, Manitouwadge, and beyond to celebrate the occasion, enjoy delicious food and dance the night away.

A Day to Remember

The relaxed and joyful nature of the bride set the tone for a wonderful day. The couple took some photos at McLagan Park in Stratford, a picturesque location near Shakespeare Garden. Owing to this setting, they were able to capture stunning shots near the water, adding a touch of nature’s beauty to their wedding album.

Mackenzie and David’s wedding was a testament to their love, the strong bond they share and the people around them who love them!
