A Highlight Reel of 2023 Vendors
And just like that, the 2023 wedding season has officially come to an end…and what a wedding season it was! I feel like I say this every year, but I am just so humbled and grateful at the wrap up of each season. This year was not without it’s trials and tribulations! From health scares and breaking ground on Sunrise Silo Acres to traveling to Ireland with three kids under ten, it was definitely a roller coaster! Getting to preserve once-in-a-lifetime memories for amazing people is not something I ever want to take for granted. I am grateful for this job daily!
One of my favourite parts of the job is all the amazing people I get to meet and work with. Not only my wonderful photogenic subjects, but my fellow professionals too! I get to work with some incredible people at some incredible places. This year I thought I’d take a moment to highlight some of them. Now obviously, I wish that I was able to feature everyone here, but unfortunately that’s just not possible. If you are a fellow wedding professional reading this, please know that you are near and dear to my heart. I cannot express how much I value the work that you do.

A Highlight Reel of 2023 Vendors: Moorhouse Estates
Moorhouse Estates is located in Florence, ON and it was the location for Maddie and Dmitry’s big day. I mean it when I say that this venue has something magical about it!
It’s owned by Chris Moorhouse and his wife, and this idyllic location truly sets the stage for any wedding day! Even when unexpected weather dashed hopes of an outdoor ceremony, Chris transformed the indoor space into a breathtaking setting for the couple’s vows. This just goes to show the level of care that comes when you get married here!
Additionally, I want to take a second to highlight the decorator and coordinator here too: The Paper Bride in Chatham! Maddie and Dmitry’s team expertly brought their vision to life. They thoughtfully handled everything, from choosing the colours to managing all the little details involved in planning a wedding, perfectly complementing the wonderful venue. They came in particularly clutch when a massive rain storm required some major pivoting less than an hour before the ceremony! The ladies at The Paper Bride made the transition run seamlessly.
A Highlight Reel of 2023 Vendors: Little Black Dog Catering
For Chelsey and Zade’s wedding in June, they used the Little Black Dog catering company. When I tell you that this was some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had! Literally one of the best spreads I’ve ever seen. My favourite part about it was that it was a “snacking spread”. It was out for the entire celebration, and had 3 stages to it, rather than just apps, dinner and then dessert. You could eat whenever you wanted, which was a bonus for me while I was working! Sometimes it can be difficult to sit down long enough to eat.
We all know that the food is one of the most important parts of a wedding, especially when you’re not just a guest. Weddings make for long days when you’re involved in them, and it was so nice to have food available the whole time! I know Chelsey and Zade appreciated it too. Being able to eat in between mingling with guests and partying is important after all!
A Highlight Reel of 2023 Vendors: Maple Lane Haven
Shooting a wedding at Maple Lane Haven was on my bucket list and I was so excited when Rachel and Adam told me they were getting married there! The perfectly manicured landscaping and rockwork provides the best backdrop for any big day. The grounds at Maple Lane Haven are incredible. With so many different photography locations, including an actual waterfall, wooded spaces, and farmland to choose from, our only challenge was running out of time.
Rachel and Adam chose to complement the beautiful red barn and rustic farm feel of Maple Lane Haven with simplicity in their decor. They chose a colour scheme of red and yellow, with sunflowers and roses taking centre stage! One of my favourite things about this venue is how versatile it is. Their decor was stunning on it’s own, but paired with the amazing backdrop of this venue it took it to the next level!
Honourable Mentions
A quick moment for some honourable mentions here! I just have to give these guys some love too. First up is Danna Nicole Formal Wear. Carolyn wore an AMAZING pantsuit outfit from there when she married Todd, and it was literally stunning. Now, they don’t do bridal gowns but they are a perfect choice for anyone looking for a unique outfit for yourself to get married in or any of your guests!
Next is Everlastings in Lucknow. Fresh floral arrangments for any location! I love these guys because they always bring their A game, and their selection is always on pointe.
Third we have Victor Lair Jewelers in Walkerton. I’m not exaggerating when I say that whenever one of my couples has a ring that I adore and comment on, it’s almost always from here. Timeless yet modern – I know, I don’t know how they do it either!
Last but not least we have DJ Mastermix. They curate some of the most fun wedding receptions I’ve ever been to! They are always ready to bring the energy and it’s always so welcome.
